Areas of responsibility-
Mayor Ed McGuffie oversees the operations of the all city
departments, oversees all employees and acts as a liaison to the Finance and Ordinance Committee.

Personal-
I have been married to Donna for 43 years with two children
and five grandchildren. I served in the U.S. Army, and I am a Vietnam War veteran. I am a former member of the governor's task force on child abuse and former member of National School Resource Officers Association.

I ranked in the top 50 youth coaches in a national survey sponsored by Gatorade.

Education-
Jefferson State Community College - Criminal Justice
Samford University - General studies and Criminal Justice
Also, many law enforcement-related schools and training throughout my career.

Work-
I was elected Mayor of Clay in November 2008. I have held management and supervisor positions with Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, including liaison with county government on budget management. I supervised investigations, hiring, and policy and procedures for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. After 38 years, I retired from law enforcement.
