Recent Work-
The Commission has been going through the city parcel by parcel, particularly those zoned agricultural, in plans to recommend changes to what zoning classification is applied to each parcel, based on current use and expected future use.
They are also now working on coming up with proposed changes to the sign ordinance to make it more clear and easier to enforce.
Commission Function-
The City of Clay Planning and Zoning Commission has three responsibilities:
- They design a plan for future development.
- They advise the city council on zoning ordinance changes.
- They create and enforce sub-division regulations.
This group depends on the hard work of the city's building inspector and city clerk in enforcing the regulations.
The group meets at the Clay Community Center on the third Thursday of the month at 6 p.m.

Councilman L.B. Feemster, Council Woman Rebecca Johnson and City Clerk Bob Christmas also are members of this commission.
