Linda Love, Senior Activity Center Director for the City of Clay, said seniors can pick up their Farmer's Market Coupons at the Clay Community Center 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on July 7. The coupons are free and can be used to purchase $30 worth of food from participating farmers at the markets sponsored by the Office of Senior Services in Montgomery.
To qualify the senior must:
- Be 60 years of age or older on the date of issuance
- Live in Jefferson County
- Have income of $1,517 per month or less for a single household, $2,042 per month or less for a household of two, $2,567 per month or less for a household of three.
According to the Alabama Office for State Farmers Market Authority, the redemption sites for these coupons include:
- Trussville Springs Farmers Market, 200 Spring Street off of Hwy 11, June 5-September 4, Saturdays, 8 a.m.-noon.
- Center Point Parkway Farmers Market, 2209 Center Point Parkway, Southside Parking Lot of City Hall, June 3-August 26, Thursdays, June 3-August 26.
- East Lake Famers Market, 7756 1st Ave. S. at East Lake United Methodist Church, May 29-October 17, Saturdays, 8 a.m.-noon.
- Trussville Fresh Market, 147 N. Chalkville Rd. at Antique Mall, May 25-September 14, Tuesday, 2 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
