The City of Clay received reports of some structural damage in the city from the remnants of tropical depression Lee. Utility crews are working to restore power and phone service soon.
As of Wednesday at 11 a.m., the Clay Public Library did not have phone or WiFi service. However, the power is on and public-use computers are working, giving access to the Internet. If you would like to contact the library, you may send an email to Director Karen Moody.
The Trussville Library has WiFi service.
AT&T is reporting that landline phone service will be restored in Clay anytime between Thursday at 9 a.m. and Tuesday.
The City Council meeting planned for Monday evening was canceled as the power was out. We will let you know through the website when the meeting is rescheduled.
