Councilwoman Jackie Hambrick and Mayor Ed McGuffie have received municipal official advanced certification. The Alabama League of Municipalities gives the certification to those who complete 80 hours of training on council meeting procedures, the Open Meetings Act, public records, conflicts of inerest, State Ethics Law, duties of mayor and council, zoning and much more.
Councilwoman Becky Johnson and Councilman L.B. Feemster have also been named Certified Municipal Officials, reflecting 40 hours of training.
