Nationwide Emergency Alert System Test
On Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m., the first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System will interrupt television and radio programming for up to three and a half minutes. This is part of of the ongoing efforts of the Federal Communications Commission and Federal Emergency Management Agency to keep our coountry and communities safe.

An audio message will be played saying, "This is a test." After the test, regular programming will resume. The point of this test is to ensure the nation is prepared to relay important information to the public in the event of an emergency.
