The Cosby Lake park development project is progressing nicely. Included are some bridges to provide more pedestrian areas, connecting to make a full circle around the lake. A long bridge across the swampy area is good for nature watching, including birds and fish. It connects to the walking patch behind the lake. In time, the parking area next to the dam will be closed, but the walking patch will come up next to the road, ultimately connecting to the walking path on the other side. It will end up making a complete circle. Parking will be next to the existing public building and on the northeast end on Steeplechase Parkway.
(Right- new bridge, completed in November, 2011. Below- master plan for walking path around Cosby Lake. Dark areas are the planned bridges.)
