New Playground at Clay City Park

The City of Clay is proud to announce that Clay residents have a
new playground at the Clay City Park, behind the Clay Public Library.

Since the 104 acres were purchased on the northeast side of the city, more and more amenities have been added. The new playground joins a football field, a renovated house for a library, four tournament-grade baseball fields and two concession stands to provide cultural, educational, athletic and recreational enjoyment to Clay residents.

The playground cost $80,000. Some landscaping needs to be added, but the slides, swings, monkey bars and more are now safe for play. The city is planning a splash pad, hopefully to be completed by the spring of 2012. Benches and chairs are also planned in that area. Up on the hill, a practice field is now under construction.

This playground has some special features: a truck on springs, a small children section and a swing for children with special needs.
