The City of Clay has sent out business license renewal notices for 2012. If you have a business in Clay and have not received your notice, please contact Revenue Clerk Susan Nelson. Deadline for turning in the fee and the affidavit is January 31, 2012.
This year, the amounts have not changed. Most will pay a flat fee for gross receipts under a certain amount. Then, a percentage of the gross receipts above that threshold will be charged.
However, due to state law, this year an actual hand signature is required, verifying you are a U.S. citizen. A legible copy of the photo I.D. is also required, along with a legible copy of any professional cards.
These can be turned in by mail, sent by email or brought to City Hall.
We have all the business license documents online.
